BARTENDER
JOB SUMMARY : Prepare, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests directly or through serving staff. Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing exemplary customer service
Take beverage orders from guests and servers
Present drink menus, make recommendation and answer guests questions
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including proper glassware and garnish, with standard drink recipes
Peel, slice and pit fruit for all garnishing drinks Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
Take accurate orders while maximizing sales using selling techniques and product knowledge
Prepare checks for guests’
Ensure the accurate collection of payment for all served products
Correct and accurate execution of the POS system
Follow all proper cash handling procedures and guidelines
Upsell beverage items to guests
Attempt to limit problems related to guests’ excessive drinking
Ability to maintain a high, but well-balanced energy level throughout the entire night
Have strong interpersonal communication skills in order to answer customer questions and address customer concerns in a warm, professional and accommodating manner
Compliance with all ABC laws and policies
Complete any and all assigned cleaning duties, including stocking and organization
Ensure proper set up and break down of stations before and after operating hours Attend all departmental and service training seminars as requested or assigned
Any additional responsibilities as directed by the General or Assistant General Manager
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Working knowledge of standard drink recipes
Working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer
Understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishes
Working knowledge of bar equipment
Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with customers, the public and employees
Good verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods
Interpersonal skills to provide overall customer satisfaction
Must have extensive knowledge of food and beverage etiquette, customer relations and service standards
Knowledge of drink recipes
Knowledge of proper food handling requirements
Strong mathematical skills
Knowledge of daily maintenance and cleaning of venue
Must have knowledge and proficiency with current point of sale system and cash handling reports
Knowledge of all required legal documents, i.e., A.B.C., Health Dept., Police, City, Etc.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred College degree preferred
Experience: Minimum of two years of high volume bartending experience preferred
Age: Must be at least 21 to meet minimum age requirement of the State of California to serve alcoholic beverages.
Licenses or Certificates: Food Handlers Card LEAD Card CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred.
HOST/HOSTESS
JOB SUMMARY : The host/ hostess is responsible for positively greeting guests at the door. This position will seat guests and provide them with clean menus in a friendly, professional manner. The employees are responsible for ensuring the customers’ have a positive experience at the venue.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome, seat and ensure guests receive personalized service and attention
Engage guests and provide detailed information on menu
Run and update the floor plan board
Takes name on waiting list
Takes guests information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when table are not available immediately
Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
Create a fun and exciting atmosphere for customers
Complete all assigned cleaning duties, including stocking and organization
Ensure proper set up and break down of stations before and after operating hours
Answers phone and questions pertaining to the menu, restaurant and museum
Attend all departmental and service training seminars as requested or assigned by management
Any additional responsibilities as directed by the Management Team

Familiar with Seating Chart
Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with customers, the public and employees
